The one year Indian Classical Music Program at the CIAS is designed for beginners who wish to explore the fundamentals of Hindustani or Carnatic music. The course builds a strong foundation in swaras, ragas, taals and performance techniques through regular practice, theory sessions and guided mentorship.

Over three semesters, students learn basic ragas, rhythm patterns, improvisation skills, and stage presentation. The program blends practical training with an understanding of music history and cultural context.

With personalised guidance from experienced faculty and workshops by guest artists, students prepare for a final recital and recorded portfolio. By the end of the course, they gain confidence and proficiency to perform beginner level classical compositions and continue towards advanced music training.
